Chicago’s River Walk – Our “Second Lakefront”!

The River Walk spans from Lake Shore Drive to Franklin Street and contains wonderful lush green spaces, cafes, retail establishments and numerous places to sit and relax in the shade or sun. Today, the River Walk is comprised of the Confluence, Arcade Civic and Market districts. Learn how the new $100 million Federal Loan is reshaping the River Walk by adding six exciting new themes including the Marina, Cove, River Theater, Swimming Hole, Jetty and Boardwalk!

In addition, enjoy spectacular views of the city’s iconic skyline while listening to intriguing stories behind these great buildings including; Wrigley, Tribune, Aqua, Aon Center, London Guarantee & Accident, Mather Tower, Trump Tower, Jewelers, Carbide & Carbon, John Hancock and Intercontinental Hotel. Learn interesting stories about Chicago’s past, present and future and revel in the stories of many of our cities most colorful characters!

Plus - guests finish the tour with a short boat ride along the Chicago River and observe some of Chicago's iconic buildings!

River Walk Sightseeing Tour Plus Highlights

  • Tour Duration: 2 and ½ hours – maximum walking
  • Tours are conducted along scenic Chicago River Walk
  • Tours begin June 4 and are offered every Wednesday and Friday at 10:00 am
  • Minimum: 4 Guests
  • Spectacular views of Chicago’s iconic skyline.
  • Entertaining stories featuring the buildings along the River and the most importantly, the fascinating people who built them and occupied them!
  • Tours begin at 111 East Wacker - inside Lower Lobby - next to Houlihans Restaurant
  • After a 10 minute boat ride along the Chicago River, tour ends at Wrigley Building - 400 North Michigan
  • Learn about the S.S. Eastland Disaster and hear interesting stories of some of Chicago’s most fascinating characters including; William Wrigley Jr., Colonel Robert McCormick, George Wellington “Cap” Streeter, Al Capone, Paul Harvey, Helmut Jahn, Bertrand Goldberg and so many more.
