Custom Bus Tour - Perfect!

5 of 5 stars - Reviewed 5 days ago

Chicago's Finest Tours was the perfect way for me to show off my beautiful city to family visiting from France. I was hosting about 15 aunts and uncles who were in town for my sister's wedding and wanted a way to show them around the city without having them walk around too much. Dan worked hand in hand with me to provide a custom tour of the downtown area as well as the north and south sides of Chicago. We had a four-hour tour which felt like the perfect amount of time to see everything. The bus was large enough to see the buildings and we did not feel like it obstructed the views at all. Dan sat with us at the front of the bus and gave us tremendous information and facts about the sights around us, all with letting me enough time to translate all he was saying to my family in French. Dan's knowledge of the city is unparalleled, he seemed to have answers for all of our ridiculous questions. My family could not stop talking about how wonderful the tour was for the remainder of the weekend. I would not hesitate to book another large tour with him in the future and will definitely be coming back for some smaller and more intimate tours of the city.

Pullman National Monument Tour - New (offered: 3-6, 4-17, 6-5, 8-21 & 11-6)

Far into the second half of the 20th century, the south side of Chicago was an industrial powerhouse. Meatpacking, luxury trains and steel production were three of the great economic engines driving what seemed at the time, the city’s endless prosperity. Pullman National Monument is the story of American opportunity. The diverse people whose stories intertwine here all sought opportunity. Some succeeded; others found opportunity limited by race, gender, economic status, or position. Their stories came together in the town of Pullman, a planned community famed for its urban design and architecture. It was designed as a utopia—a place to provide workers with a safe community, a better standard of living, and an environment free of social ills.

For many, the name Pullman is synonymous with luxury train cars. While this is accurate, the Pullman legacy extends well beyond these elegant mansions on wheels. As guests will discover, Pullman became a doorway to Civil Rights, Unionization, Planned Communities and so much more. This 3 hour tour will journey to the city’s far south side and immerse guests into a thoughtful discussion of Chicago’s inimitable past and endless contributions to the American way of life. It promises to be informative, fun and above all, entertaining.

“Best tour Ever”!

5 of 5 stars

Reviewed 1-9-2016

I took the pedway brunch tour. It was so much fun and very informative, definitely one of the best I've ever had. Our tour guide Dan was a special treat. He was very knowledgeable, entertaining, and kept us involved the whole way through. The lunch buffet included was also delicious and the surroundings were beautiful. I learned a lot about not just the pedway but about Chicago and the people who made important contributions to the city. It was the perfect tour during winter since it was all indoors. I actually can't wait to schedule more tours with Chicago's Finest Tours, I'm planning on bringing my family and friends on upcoming tour adventures. Very highly recommended!!!

Super!

“Great History and Holiday tour!”

5 of 5 stars

Another great tour by Dan! Dan loves history and it shows in his tours. This is the second tour I've taken with him and the third my husband has taken. Lots of history and stories shared. This tour was a lot of fun with trivia contests (and prizes!) Part of the tour was in the pedway, part by bus, and a small amount of walking outside between historic hotels. Lots of fun surprises sprinkled in this tour too. Thanks for a great afternoon!

A great tour of the pedways and holiday lights. When we booked this tour I worried that it was too long, but I was pleasantly surprised. Our tour guide was fabulous and entertained us with stories and history for the entire time. We toured both the Pedway and various holiday sites all over downtown Chicago. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole tour and I have been recommending it to our friends and neighbors. The time flew by, and Dan and his "elf" were helpful, pleasant and knowledgeable. Can't wait to take another tour with this group!
